Dreamaire™ versus Select Comfort™
The most frequently asked question we get is the comparison between Dreamaire™ and Select Comfort™, so we
developed a page by itself full of answers.
We will talk about the differences first and then give you a comparison
of which models match up.

The differences:
1) The Value: We offer the king size Celenia Digital set for $1999 which
is almost identical in feel/quality to the 7000 series which sells for $3299.
We are offering you our mattress which we feel is of higher quality for a much better price.
We don't have costly infomercials or highly paid celebrities advertising our product, so we
don't have to charge you extra to pay their salaries.
However, don't let our low prices fool you!! When you order a
Dreamaire mattress, you will receive one of the highest quality mattresses on
the market.
2) The Comfort: Select Comfort beds have a foam divider
running down the middle of the bed. We have had numerous customers tell us
that it can cause a hump in the middle of the bed making it very difficult
to "cuddle" or sleep in the middle.
Dreamaire places both air chambers side by side for a more uniform feel,
allowing you to use the entire mattress instead of being limited to one
little area. If you set both air chambers near the same firmness level,
you will not even be able to tell there is a middle.
3) The Chambers:
Dreamaire and Select Comfort have designed their air chambers to run head to toe and side to side.
While both companies claim their wall arrangement to be a better
design, it really doesn't matter which direction they run. All of the chambers
are interconnected and the air pressure equalizes throughout the entire mattress
when pressure is applied. Both styles distribute
pressure equally across the entire body because it is the air that supports
the weight, not the chamber walls.
Our Celesta 10k model features a urethane chamber which is considered to be the highest quality chamber on the market.
This 3.5" urethane chamber also allows us to offer true "edge to edge" air support, truly leading the industry in sleep innovation.
4) The Air Hoses: Dreamaire permanently attaches the air hose to the
chamber and then it is clamped to the pump to prevent leaks. We don't use
O-Rings or fancy connectors that might weaken and leak over time.
The Comparison:
Our Celesta 10k Digital mattress is the newest and most advanced air mattress offered not only by Dreamaire by but anyone. With its new edge to edge
sleeping surface there is no other bed on the market that can match its quality and sleep surface.
The Celesta features "edge to edge" air chambers which give you over 20% more adjustable firmness sleeping space.
It also comes standard with a 2.5" 4lb memory foam insert or slightly cooler 2" pincore latex foam insert. Our Digital WF4200 air control system is one of the most advanced air control units on the market.
Our digital controls offer you 100 different settings while Select Comfort's pump only offers 20 settings.
We would like to offer a Select Comfort comparison but at this time,
Dreamaire owns the patent on "edge to edge" air support and none of the Select Comfort models truly compare.
Our Celenia Digital 7001 matches up to their
7000 series, both have the same type of cover
and similar amounts of foam inside the cover. We use a 2" pincore latex foam in this model which is designed to displace heat and retain
its support for many years to come.
Select Comfort's 7000 series queen size set sells for $2599 where our Celenia Digital queen set sells for only $1699.
You can choose to save over $1000 on a similar mattress or you may want to upgrade to our Celesta Digital queen for $2299.
Our Cerulean 5001 best matches up to their
5000 series, both have the same type of cover
and similar amounts of foam inside the cover.
The main difference is that their mattress has the quieter pump with digital readouts(similar to our Digital pump)
and our pump on this model is a little louder and does not have digital readouts. We suggest this
model for people who want the feel of our Celenia model without the additional cost of the digital pump.
Our Cerenity 4001 Classic style is designed very similar
to their 4000 series. The main difference is that our mattress
cover is made with 68% cotton where theirs is mostly polyester. What would you rather
sleep on, cotton or polyester? The Select comfort model also has a boxtop pillowtop design.
We designed this bed for the person that needs a firmer feel with the adjustability of air.
Our lowest price Bronze 3001 series is the closest we have to
their 3000 series mattress. Even though the Bronze is our
lowest price mattress, we feel that it is a much higher quality mattress
than Select Comfort's 3000 series.
